World ranking of universities in the world is examined every year by the QS Institute; QS Institute evaluates the ranking of world universities according to the following criteria:

2. The number of foreign students
3. The city where the university is located
4. The facilities available on the website of each university
5. The number of scientific papers presented by students of the university

According to these criteria, the Institute annually ranks the world’s 1000 top universities; the latest assessment of the Institute has been in 2016 and on the list of the world’s 1000 top universities in 2016 there are 7 Malaysian universities that the world ranking of these 7 universities is in the following table.
