About UUM: University Utara Malaysia or UUM which is known as a management university is the 6th malaysian public university.

• The ranking of University Utara Malaysia is 701 in the QS World University Rankings in year 2015/16
• UUM is the only university that specialize in management education field from the beginning of its establishment

Location of University Utara Malaysia ( UUM Location): UUM  has two campuses. The main campus is located in Sintok, Kedah which it is around a 5 hour drive from kuala lumpur; and  the Kuala lumpur campus (UUMKL) which is located  in the KL city center along Jalan Raja Muda Abdul Aziz.

English Language requirement for admission in University Utara Malaysia (UUM) :  All international students who are going to apply for UUM are required to have Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOFEL) or the test administered by the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with the minimum required score below for different levels of study.

Students for Master and PHD programs who has the following also can be accepted in UUM: 

1-Applicant who has graduated from Public  university in Malaysia with English as a language of instruction.

2-Applicant from any of the following native English Speaking Country and Commonwealth countries:

NOTE: If you do not have above English language qualifications, you can sit for UUM English language placement test (ELPT) when you arrive in Malaysia. If you pass the placement test, you would have met the minimum English requirement and start your study at University Utara Malaysia. However, if you have NOT passed the UUM placement test, you will be required to do an intensive English course at UUM University Malaysia.

 NOTE: The ELPT is just for international students of College of Arts and Sciences, and College of Law, Government, and International Studies. International students of College of Business and OYA Graduate School of Business have to produce IELTS/TOEFL score. Also, Students are allowed to take the Intensive English Course maximum two semesters. They will be terminated from the university if they fail the course for two consecutive semesters.

Accommodation at UUM University:

As a fully residential university, Universiti Utara Malaysia provides accommodation for almost 20,000 of its students in 15 residential halls. This includes a residential hall for married students. Each residential hall has its own facilities for students. There are common rooms, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, shops, and recreational and sports facilities. Many of these halls are named after multinational companies. The student esidential halls (called as DPP) are:

For undergraduate students are guaranteed a place in one of the residential halls. Accommodation for postgraduate students are on a ‘first come, first serve basis’. Each of the residential halls is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including common rooms, a cafeteria, laundry facilities, shops, a recreation center, and sports facilities. It is also common for postgraduate students who have accompanying family members in Malaysia to rent houses near to UUM Campus.
